The 28 Petits Bijoux pendant by by Catellani & Smith is simple both in form and in its execution. It is composed of an overlapping of concentric brass circles. The circles are decorated with transparent glass diffusers bristling with spikes, which cover the essential structure like crystal bijoux. This large ornate structure is extremely airy.
Each diffuser contains an LED source that appears to be suspended in space.

The concept of sphere, the circle as a metaphor of infinity and perfection, are dear and recurring subjects in the production of Enzo Catellani. The production of Catellani & Smith is mainly artisanal. These lamps are handmade by several craftsmen. Each lamp is subjected to rigorous control which guarantees its quality. Small imperfections are not a defect but a characteristic of handwork.
