Frisbi
Frisbi
Flos
The first version of the Frisbi suspension lamp was born in 1978 and was created by the award-winning Achille Castiglioni for Flos . From the moment of its conception it has never ceased to represent a timeless icon of Italian lighting design.
Thanks to the success also the ability to illuminate directly, the genius of Frisbi in fact lies in knowing how to emit a powerful but pleasant light beam, using a single bulb.
This is thanks to its particular structure: a long rod connects a cone-shaped spotlight to the ceiling in which the light bulb is housed; below a rounded diffuser with a hole in the centre.
A masterpiece of technique and study, completed by a skilful choice of materials: the diffuser is in PMMA, the housing cap of the light source in polished sheet completed, inside, by a white paint that reflects the light, there are also the 3 cables that anchor the diffuser plate to the suspension cable.
Complex in its construction, Frisbi is a chandelier that reveals practicality and versatility and can help illuminate and furnish various domestic and professional environments.
